ウロボロスの蛇について

ウロボロスの蛇は、自らの尾を飲み込み、はじまりとおわりが一致することから、永遠、不滅の象徴とされています。銀河系や星雲、太陽系、地球、大地、生物、細胞、遺伝子、分子、原子、クォーク、素粒子など、理学の研究対象を無限大のかたちの蛇のまわりに表現しました。理学の世界に理（ことわり）の美を見つけましょう。

The Ouroboros is a serpent that eats its own tail, representing both beginnings and endings. This serpent is often used as a symbol for eternity and immortality. Due to this, our Ouroboros takes the shape of an infinity sign, with the different research subjects of science represented along its body. From head to tail we can find astronomy (the universe, stars, solar system), geoscience (earth science, volcanology/geology), biology (organisms, cells, genes), chemistry (molecules, atoms), and physics (quarks, elementary particles). By combining all these research fields, we aim to uncover the beauty of nature through the world of science.
